Universally Designed for Learning

THOUGHTFULLY DESIGNED INSTRUCTION PROVEN TO ENHANCE STUDENT ENGAGEMENT

Universal Design for Learning is an instructional design framework that offers flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of increasingly diverse learners and maximize engagement.

Every lesson provides an intentional and systematic approach for building an environment that accommodates diversity in learning preferences between each student.

Personalized Learning

ALL STUDENTS RECEIVE PERSONALIZED LEARNING PLANS AND GOALS

Personalized learning is an educational approach that aims to customize learning for each student's strengths, needs, skills, and interests. Each student gets a learning plan that's based on what they know and how they learn best. Personalized learning doesn't replace an IEP, a 504 plan, or intervention programs.

All students take a placement test upon signing up for Tutor Potential Courses. The placement test, student preferences, and parent survey questions are all used to build a personalized learning plan for students. Learning plans are monitored on a weekly to a bi-weekly basis for all students.

Culturally Responsive Instruction

Cultural Competency at the Core of Instruction

Culturally responsive instruction is a student-centered approach to teaching in which the students' unique cultural strengths are identified and nurtured to promote student achievement and a sense of well-being about the student's cultural place in the world. It is grounded in teachers' practice of cultural competence when teaching in cross-cultural or multicultural settings.

Tutor Potential Tutors embrace the diversity in students and encourage each student to relate course content to their cultural context.
